  1. Activate Yeast: In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Mix Dough: Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Stir until a rough dough forms.
  3. Knead Dough: Transfer to a floured surface and knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. First Rise: Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1–1.5 hours until doubled in size.
  5. Shape Loaf: Punch down dough, shape into a loaf, and place in a greased loaf pan.
  6. Second Rise: Cover and let rise again for 30–40 minutes until puffy.
  7. Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 30–35 minutes until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  8. Serve: Cool slightly before slicing. Best enjoyed warm with butter.
